Our Story
Years ago, when my children ran around the playground or scrabbled up trees to great heights, I had to remind myself what they'd worn that day so I could spot them in the crowd or through the branches. I sat on a bench and thought, “I really must sew highly visible clothes to quickly locate my kids.”
When my children got older, I felt that same familiar concern return—only this time, it was for myself. I turned my creative energies toward my own biking adventures on busy urban streets and suburban byways. I wanted to be clearly seen—day and night—by drivers in cars and trucks with whom I shared the road. Importantly, scooter riders and I also had to be noticed both on the road and on bikeways. That concern drove me to look for clothing that worked as hard as I did—something practical, yes, and also something I’d actually want to wear.
I founded C the People.
C the People locally produces biking vests with style and high visibility. And guess what? We are noticed. Our vests include:
- precision detailing
- secure pockets large enough to hold a phone
- all season adaptability (wear over a summer t-shirt, a spring or falltime jacket or layered winter outerwear)
Our customers love the reflective dragonfly motif on our zip vest, and the striking simplicity of the crisscross vest. They also appreciate that our high-vis vests are made in Canada, which reflects our company’s commitment to supporting local businesses.
